THE MOON is a 140-capacity non-profit live music venue, bar & club on Womanby Street in Cardiff. We put on gigs, clubnights, music community events, alldayers, fundraisers and small festivals.

Transport & Parking

FIND US: The Moon, 3 Womanby St, Cardiff CF10 1BR. We’re near Cardiff Castle and the Stadium.

TRAIN: Cardiff Central train station is 5 minutes walk - visit The Trainline website or get the app.

BUS: Most Cardiff buses stop on either Westgate St around the corner, or Customhouse St a few mins walk away - visit the Cardiff Bus website or get the app

TAXIS usually pull in at the Castle end of our street or call +442920555555 or try Uber

NATIONAL EXPRESS stops at Sophia Gardens, MEGABUS stops by Castle St or North Rd by the Hilton

PARKING: please note the NCP near our venue has recently stopped its cheap night rate, so it costs £19-£33 to park there now for an event. We have compiled cheaper nearby alternatives below. Walking times are based on co-owner Liz walking back to the venue so may vary depending on the person.

Accessibility & Facilities

The Moon is a ground floor venue, with flat access through double doors, which are fixed open. 

There is a gender neutral toilet, which is suitable for wheelchair users and with grab bars.

Free ear plugs are provided at the bar. Seating available.

Womanby's Clubbing

We host a monthly inclusive disco for adults with additional needs, with Skills & Volunteering Cymru. For info and if you're attending for the first time please email generalenquiries@svcardiff.org 

Working Towards a Safe Space

We want everyone to feel comfortable at our venue and to have an awesome time. We will not tolerate harassment, violence, aggression or discrimination. that includes "just banter". 

If someone is bothering you, if you feel uncomfortable or threatened, or if you see someone being harassed, please speak to a member of staff immediately (bar or security). don't be a bystander. 

This includes watching bands - please be aware of the people around you - their personal space, safety and enjoyment of the show. Thank you!

Covid Safety

While restrictions have been lifted, we ask you to respect other people’s concerns about covid and consider they may wish to distance. They could have an underlying health condition which may not be visible, or be worried about getting ill.

Or they may have trauma following the pandemic, lockdown or lack of social contact.

You’re welcome to wear a mask if you wish but it isn’t mandatory. 

We’d like to encourage all performers to test within 24 hours of playing our venue. You’re welcome to bring your own microphone, but please try to let us know in advance. We have ViolaWave bullet mic sanitisers should you want us to use them during changeovers.
